Demand for Turkish resorts fell in Russia in April, while demand for Egyptian resorts increased

Russian tourists in April prefer Egypt to Turkey

According to the information published on the ATOR website with reference to the data of the service “Sletat.ru”, in April there was a decrease in interest in tourist trips to Turkey, while the popularity of Egypt has noticeably increased.

Compared to the previous year, travelers' priorities have undergone some changes. Egypt came out on top in terms of search queries and number of purchased tours for April, significantly increasing its market share. Although last year Egypt was the leader in sales of tours for April, its share was 23%, this year it increased to 29.6%.

Turkey lost its leading position in the number of search queries, falling to second place and losing the lead to Egypt. By the volume of realized tours as of April, Turkey ranks third with a share of 15.11% of the total number of sales. A year earlier Turkey accounted for 20% of total tour sales in April. Thailand ranked second with a share of 15.14% of all sales for April 2025.

In addition, there is an increase in interest in such destinations as the UAE, China and Vietnam. This is reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
