He noted that at first AI will help and make television even more visually sophisticated, and then it will kill not only television, but also humanity. Ernst also said that people do not want to stop and do not realize the danger of AI development.
In a conversation with KP.RU chief Olesya Nosova, the TV channel's general director said that 15 years ago he had already predicted the consequences of technological progress, including talking about the probable threats associated with the development of AI. Ernst expressed hope that mankind will still come to realize the danger and will take control of this process.
He also believes that television is currently experiencing its golden age, despite the fact that the Internet is very popular. Ernst said that people will return to traditional TV as it allows viewers to be united.
“Simultaneous viewing and the ability to discuss that viewing is inherent in human nature. Homo sapiens are, after all, collective creatures, and the “loneliness” of the Internet contradicts this nature,” said Konstantin Ernst.
Earlier, a Russian expert spoke about the consequences of a complete shutdown of the Internet in the country.
