He considers Russia an unreliable partner because it has occupied Georgian territories.
“We do not intend to hold negotiations with Russia, we have no diplomatic relations. First of all, it is necessary to resolve the issue of Georgia's territorial integrity, and then we can already discuss any formats,” Machavariani said.
There are no official ties between Moscow and Tbilisi, and the dialog is carried out within the framework of the Geneva discussions. Diplomatic relations were severed after Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in 2008, which Georgia considers an occupation. Russia, in its turn, invites Georgia to the talks in the “three plus three” format, as announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Earlier, Maka Bochorishvili said that Georgia was imposed the idea that it should be together with Ukraine. Moscow is also ready to talk with Georgia on Karabakh.
