Deputy Mayor Efimov: Over 12 kilometers of roads were built in Moscow in 2024

In the first seven months of 2024, more than 12 kilometers of roads were built in Moscow, eight artificial structures and one crosswalk were erected. In general, more than 1370 kilometers of road surface have been built in the capital since 2011, said Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction.

According to Efimov, a significant amount of work has been completed as part of the formation of a new transportation framework for the city. Since 2011, 1,372.3 kilometers of roads have been built in Moscow, including 12.3 kilometers this year. Also, 437 tunnels, overpasses and bridges have been erected, of which eight artificial structures were built in 2024. The number of such structures increased by 65% compared to previous years, the press service of the capital's urban planning complex notes.

For the specified period 314 off-street crosswalks were built, one of which was put into operation in 2024. Among the most significant objects of the current year are the pedestrian bridge connecting Balchug Island with the Krymskaya and Yakimanskaya embankments, and the traffic interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Verkhnie Polyaya Street, completed in March. Also in March, an overpass at kilometer 24-25 of the Leningradskoye Shosse was opened, which was commissioned six months ahead of schedule.

By the end of 2024, a number of facilities are planned to be commissioned, including a traffic interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Altufievskoye Shosse, a highway linking the MSD with the Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye Shosse (first stage), a section of the Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye Shosse from Novomoskovskaya metro station to Polyany Street (first stage), as well as the Kaluga Shosse understudy (first stage).

A number of roads will be closed in Moscow this weekend

Moscow will temporarily restrict traffic in a number of districts from March 29 to 30 in connection with holiday events. This was reported in the regional department of transport.

From 23:00 on March 29 to 11:00 on March 30, traffic will be closed on Durova Street from Prospekt Mira to Olimpiyskiy Avenue. At night from March 29 to March 30 from 00:01 to 11:00 the traffic will be closed in Shchepkin Street, Meshchanskaya Street, Gilyarovsky Street, Bolshaya Tatarskaya Street, Minskaya Street, as well as in several alleys.

From 04:00 to 11:00 on March 30 Khachaturian and Kargopolskaya streets will be closed. From 06:00 to 11:00 will limit traffic on the section of Prospekt Mira towards the center from Kapelsky Lane to house 41, building 2. Parking will be prohibited in a number of areas on the same days.

The work of public transport will also change. March 29, from 23:20 to the end of the events on March 30, buses going towards Kutuzovsky Avenue will not pass through the subway station "Minskaya. The final stop of route E29 will temporarily become the metro station "Lomonosovsky Prospekt".

March 30, several bus stops will close from 07:00, including "Sukharevskaya Metro - Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theater" and "Kapelsky Lane". Buses № 292 from 06:00 to 10:00 will go to Kuryanovsky terminal instead of Kuryanovo station.

Additional restrictions will affect Khachaturian Street. From 03:30 bus routes will be changed, some of them will follow Dekabristov and Bestuzhev streets. Night route H9 will temporarily not go to the metro station "Otradnoe".

Drivers and passengers are urged to take into account the changes when planning trips. Detailed information is posted on the official website of the capital's transport services.

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow from March 29 will appear 11 new stops and adjust 7 routes. In addition, the capital will tighten the long stop at 32 more intersections.
