Emergency at a school near Moscow: the explosion of a clapper led to the hospitalization of pupils

Nine schoolchildren were injured in Istra, Moscow Region, when a firecracker exploded during a lesson

An incident involving nine students was recorded at secondary school No. 2, located in the town of Istra near Moscow. The cause of the incident was the explosion of a pyrotechnic product right in one of the school classes.

According to preliminary information, the incident happened during a Russian language lesson. One of the fifth-graders committed a rash act by throwing an improvised explosive device, which was a clapper containing a chemical compound, into his classmate's backpack.

Two students who sustained minor injuries were treated by medical personnel working at the school. Six other children who showed more serious signs of distress were treated by emergency medical personnel who arrived on the scene.

One of the victims, an eleven-year-old girl, was taken to the nearest medical institution - Istrinsky clinical hospital - with suspected intoxication caused by inhalation of poisonous vapors and gases, according to Telegram channel “112”.

According to information received from the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region, the health condition of the hospitalized schoolgirl is assessed by doctors as satisfactory. She is currently undergoing the necessary diagnostic procedures and all the required medical care.

Meanwhile, Russian seismologists have assessed the probability of a “mega-earthquake” off the coast of Japan, while houses and cars were damaged overnight in Kursk Region due to drone attacks.
